The Missionary

This weekend sees the release of the new Benefit book from Critical Press Media: “Water is Life”.

Author Deborah Caligiuri joins me on the show to provide inspiration for gifts, and talk about the very personal experiences that formed the inspiration for her story in the anthology.

John Wilkerson has been Podcasting for Water all year long, and Critical Press Media is pleased to come alongside him in this endeavor!

Fitness for Geeks

Many thanks to Tessa, who made time in her busy scheduled to speak with me about some basic fitness principles for geeks and others.  Get on to your local YMCA and get moving, burn some calories, build some muscle, and improve your health, wealth, and happiness!

Also, this week saw the release of the very first Critical Press Benefit book!  “Pathfinder” includes the story of American Indian WWII veteran Buck Hilton.  Buck relates some of his experiences growing up and in the war.  Supporting materials include articles on the “Pathfinders”, the 82nd Airborne, and the role of Native Americans in World War II.  Purchase a print copy from the Critical Press Lulu store, or download the ebook directly from the Critical Press Media website.  As a Benefit Edition, purchase of this book will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping veterans and their families return to civilian life.

Don’t forget, John Wilkerson is still podcasting for water!  For as little as $1, you can help bring clean water to struggling villages even as close as Mexico.  Check out his website for details.

The serial novel is undergoing some changes in structure.  I have been invited to rethink the release strategy, and have discovered that readers would rather have one complete short story a month rather than two chapters of a novel.  Accordingly, the novel is giving way to series of stories, Adventures on the Atomic Earth.  The existing two chapters will be reworked into complete stories of their own, which requires some alteration of my plot outline.  Check back for more updates!

Communist Honduras

Global politics doesn’t often enter into my thinking.  I leave the political scene to people like Derek and Sharon Gilbert who are more prepared and better informed than I.  Every now and then, something hits close to home and reminds me that our world is shrinking faster and faster each day.  In the Reaction Chamber with me today is my brother David, Sgt Crutchfield of the US Army.  He gives us the lowdown of what’s going on in Honduras, and why we should be concerned.  Heed the call to action by contacting your federal representatives and expressing your concern, and the desire for specific action.  Check the feed in a day or so for a suitable form letter concerning the communist takeover of Honduras by Venezuala.

Gifting Protocol

Big things in the wind for the show and the web site.  Not just here, either.  Get a great deal on Spirit Blade while you can over at The Spirit Blade Underground.  In celebration of the season and the coming changes, I’m giving away comic book grab bags to all those who write and ask.  Just email your name and address for a Christmas gift from me to you.  I said on the show it was going to the end of the year, but I’ve got a set number of these marked out, so the offer is good while supplies last.  Gifting practices are the topic today, along with randomness from my wife, Petra.  So grab a cup of cocoa and have fun with us!

Cookies for Kairos

Kairos Prison Ministry International reaches out to many kinds of facilities in many different ways.  I’ve cornered Petra in the car on the way to pre-school and forced her to tell me how to reach people for Jesus through chocolate chip cookies.
